What is kept, and where
There are two places, and they are not the same.
On this device. Everything you do here is saved in this browser: which units you have passed, your scores, which textbook and required-reading tests you have passed, any honours readings you have recorded, the name you registered with, and which programme you chose. If you have not registered, it stays here; once you register, it is also kept at the seminary, as described next.
At the seminary. If you registered, a copy is kept in the seminary’s records so your work survives losing your phone or changing browsers, and so the seminary can keep its student roll and confirm your degrees. That copy holds:
- the name you gave
- your email address, if you gave one, and whether you confirmed it — a confirmed email is needed to claim a certificate, and is used to send it to you. If you ask (“Email me my code”), your student code is sent to this address and nowhere else; that is also how a second registration under the same name and email is sent back to the record you already have
- your country, if you gave one
- which programme you are studying, and your stated goal
- how you heard about the seminary, if you said
- which units you have passed, and when
- which textbook and required-reading tests you have passed, and when — on the M.Div. and Th.M. tracks a course with such a test is complete only when it is passed
- your written answers (short answers and fill-ins), the result for each, and the feedback you were given
- which courses you have completed, and at which level
- any certificates issued to you
- the language you read the site in, and any notes the seminary has sent you about your progress
If you gave an email and go three weeks without passing a unit, the seminary may write to you once to ask how you are getting on and whether something on the site got in your way (and once, a week after you register, if you have not started). Every note has a link to stop them.
It is not kept under your name or your email. It is kept under a student code, which is the only thing that can reach it. Honours readings you record stay in this browser and are not sent.
Your written answers are sent to our server. When you submit a fill-in or a short answer, it is graded by an AI model running on Cloudflare, the company that hosts this site. The answer and its result are kept as part of your academic record, under your student code. Cloudflare does not use them to train its models. Delete my record, below, erases them with the rest. A faculty member can review any result on request.
Erase everything in this browser
This removes every trace of your studies from this browser: passed units, scores, your name, your programme, your student code. It cannot be undone and nobody can recover it for you.
If there is any chance you want this work again, make a backup first.
Ask a person
If any of this is unclear, or you would rather someone did it for you, write to the seminary at info@chapalaseminary.org and say what you would like done.
