Uchunguzi Wako wa Kwanza wa Neno — Kazi ya KuhitimishaYour First Word Study — The Capstone

"Kwa maana neno la Mungu li hai, tena lina nguvu, tena lina ukali kuliko upanga uwao wote ukatao kuwili…""For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword…"
Andiko la Sehemu Hii: "Kwa maana neno la Mungu li hai, tena lina nguvu, tena lina ukali kuliko upanga uwao wote ukatao kuwili, tena lachoma hata kuzigawanya nafsi na roho, na viungo na mafuta yaliyomo ndani ya mifupa; tena li jepesi kuyatambua mawazo na makusudi ya moyo." — Waebrania 4:12 (SUV)Unit Scripture: "For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." — Hebrews 4:12 (NKJV)

Utangulizi: Neno Linalomsoma MsomajiOrientation: The Word That Reads the Reader

You have arrived at the last unit. Eleven units, two alphabets, a dozen Greek and Hebrew words, the Strong's number system, Genesis 1:1 and John 1:1 read in their own languages. You came in not able to read either alphabet. You are leaving able to read both, look up any word in any verse, and trace it through every other place it appears in the Bible. The journey is almost over. One assignment stands between you and the certificate of completion: your first real word study.

Andiko letu la sehemu hii ni Waebrania 4:12. Kigiriki kinaanza hivi: zôn gar ho logos tou theou, "kwa maana li hai neno la Mungu." Uangalie mstari huu. Neno halikai rafuni likingoja kusifiwa. Linafanya kazi. Linachoma. Linagawanya. Linatambua. Neno linamsoma msomaji. Our unit scripture is Hebrews 4:12. The Greek opens zôn gar ho logos tou theou, "for living is the word of God." Notice the verse. The author of Hebrews does not say the Word of God contains living truth. He says the Word is living. The Greek word is zôn (Strong's G2198, the present active participle of zaô), and it means the same thing in Greek that it means in English: alive, breathing, animate. The Word of God is not a museum exhibit; Scripture itself is alive and active, and in it we meet the living Christ, of whom all Scripture speaks. And the next Greek word, energês (Strong's G1756), carries the sense of actively working, in operation, producing effect — it is related to the idea behind our English word "energy," though the English word is not proof of the Greek one; energês earns its meaning from how Hebrews and other Greek writers actually use it, not from its English descendant. The Word does not sit on the shelf waiting to be admired. It works. It pierces. It divides. It discerns. The Word reads the reader.

Hukulisoma Neno kwa wiki kumi na moja. Neno ndilo lililokusoma wewe. Hiyo ndiyo siri ya kila kozi ya kweli ya Maandiko. You did not study the Word for eleven weeks. The Word studied you. That is the secret of every honest course in Scripture.

Sehemu hii itafanya niniWhat this unit will do

Utakuwa umekistahili.Unit 11 has one main job: walk you through a complete word study from start to finish, using one Greek word as the worked example, so that you have a model in your hand for the capstone assignment you will turn in to Wayne. Section I sets out the six-step workflow you saw at the end of Unit 10. Section II is the worked example — a full word study of euangelion, the Greek word for "gospel." Section III spells out your capstone assignment in detail. Section IV looks back over the whole eleven-unit course. Section V is the closing charge. After you pass the examination, the certificate of completion unlocks. You will have earned it.

I. Muundo wa Uchunguzi wa Neno — Hatua SitaI. The Anatomy of a Word Study — Six Steps

Uchunguzi kamili wa neno una hatua sita. Hakuna hata moja iliyo ngumu. Zote zinahitaji uangalifu wa kweli. Kwa pamoja zinachukua takriban dakika arobaini na tano kwa aina ya uchunguzi ambao Wayne atakuomba ukabidhi kwa ajili ya kazi hii ya kuhitimisha. Hizi ndizo hatua za kazi, pamoja na vitenzi vinavyofanya kazi halisi katika kila hatua.A complete word study has six steps. None of them is hard. All of them require honest attention. Together they take about forty-five minutes for the kind of study Wayne will ask you to turn in for this capstone. Here is the workflow, with the verbs that actually do the work in each step.

Hatua ya 1: CHAGUA. Chagua mstari, kisha chagua neno kuu katika mstari huo unalotaka kulichunguza. Chagua neno lenye maana — kwa kawaida nomino au kitenzi kinachobeba uzito wa kimafundisho wa mstari huo. Epuka vibainishi, viunganishi na vihusishi (kama "the," "and," "of" katika Kiingereza, au "na," "ya," "kwa") — mara chache sana vinalipa juhudi ya kuvichunguza.Step 1: CHOOSE. Pick a verse, then pick the key word in the verse you want to investigate. Choose a meaningful word — usually a noun or verb that carries the doctrinal weight of the verse. Avoid articles, prepositions, and conjunctions ("the," "and," "of") — they rarely repay study.
Hatua ya 2: TAFUTA. Tafuta namba ya Strong's ya neno hilo katika mstari huo. Tumia Blue Letter Bible, Bible Hub, au chombo kingine chochote kinachotumia namba za Strong's ulichojifunza katika Sehemu ya 10. Namba hiyo inafungua kila kitu kinachofuata.Step 2: LOOK UP. Find the Strong's number for that English word in that verse. Use Blue Letter Bible, Bible Hub, or any other Strong's-keyed tool you learned in Unit 10. The number unlocks everything downstream.
Step 3: READ. Read the lexicon entry for the Greek or Hebrew word. Start with Strong's own brief definition. Then read Thayer's (Greek) or Brown-Driver-Briggs (Hebrew) for the longer scholarly entry. Note the word's range of meanings, its etymology, and any cross-language notes.
Hatua ya 4: FUATILIA. Bofya "kila mahali linapotokea" kwa namba ileile ya Strong's. Soma orodha ya mistari. Kwa neno la kawaida (kama agapê) orodha ni ndefu; chagua mistari mitano hadi kumi inayowakilisha vizuri kutoka vitabu mbalimbali. Kwa neno adimu orodha ni fupi; soma kila mahali linapotokea.Step 4: TRACE. Click "every occurrence" of the same Strong's number. Read the verse list. For a common word (like agapê) the list is long; sample five to ten representative verses across different books. For a rare word the list is short; read every occurrence.
Step 5: COMPARE. If your word is Greek and the New Testament author is quoting or alluding to the Old Testament, find the Hebrew word it translates in the Septuagint. (Bible Hub has an LXX search; Blue Letter Bible's NT verse-list often points to the OT source.) Many New Testament words carry centuries of Hebrew freight.
Hatua ya 6: RUDI. Rudi kwenye mstari wako wa awali na uusome tena. Maandishi yaleyale sasa yana kina kipya. Andika uliyoyagundua kwa maneno mia kadhaa. Usijionyeshe; onyesha ufahamu. Lengo si kuonyesha elimu. Lengo ni kulilisha kanisa.Step 6: RETURN. Go back to your original verse and reread it. The same English text now has new depth. Write your findings in a few hundred words. Do not show off; show insight. The goal is not to display learning. The goal is to feed the church.

Sentensi hiyo ya mwisho ndiyo tofauti kati ya uchunguzi wa neno unaoujenga Mwili na uchunguzi wa neno unaomjenga mwanafunzi. Wayne amesoma maelfu ya chunguzi za maneno katika miaka yake ya kufundisha. Zile nzuri hubadilisha jinsi mwandishi anavyosoma Maandiko. Zile bora kabisa hubadilisha jinsi kusanyiko la mwandishi linavyosoma Maandiko. Unapofanya kazi yako ya kuhitimisha, kumbuka unamchunguzia nani. That last sentence is the difference between a word study that builds the Body and a word study that builds the student. Wayne has read thousands of word studies over his teaching years. The good ones change the way the writer reads Scripture. The great ones change the way the writer's congregation reads Scripture. As you do your capstone, remember whom you are studying for.

II. Mfano Uliofanyiwa Kazi: EUANGELION (ευαγγελιον) — InjiliII. A Worked Example: EUANGELION (ευαγγελιον) — Gospel

Tazama jinsi uchunguzi kamili wa neno unavyoonekana. Huu hapa mmoja tangu mwanzo hadi mwisho, ukitumia hatua zote sita kwa neno moja la Kigiriki. Utafuata mtindo huohuo katika kazi yako ya kuhitimisha.Watch what a complete word study looks like. Here is one from start to finish, applying all six steps to a single Greek word. You will follow the same pattern for your capstone.

Hatua ya 1 (CHAGUA): Mstari na nenoStep 1 (CHOOSE): The verse and the word

Tunarudi kwenye Warumi 1:16 kutoka Sehemu ya 9: "Kwa maana siionei haya Injili ya Kristo; kwa sababu ni uweza wa Mungu uuletao wokovu." Tunachagua neno "Injili" — kiini cha kimafundisho cha mstari huu. Bila "Injili" sentensi inaanguka. We return to Romans 1:16 from Unit 9: "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation." We pick the English word "gospel" — the doctrinal heart of the verse. Without "gospel" the sentence collapses.

Hatua ya 2 (TAFUTA): Namba ya Strong'sStep 2 (LOOK UP): The Strong's number

Fungua Bible Hub au Blue Letter Bible. Tafuta Warumi 1:16. Gusa au weka kielekezi juu ya "gospel" (Injili). Namba ya Strong's inatokea: G2098. Neno la Kigiriki ni euangelion. Sekunde tatu za kazi na daraja limejengwa.Open Bible Hub or Blue Letter Bible. Find Romans 1:16. Tap or hover over "gospel." The Strong's number appears: G2098. The Greek word is euangelion. Three seconds of work and the bridge is built.

Hatua ya 3 (SOMA): KamusiStep 3 (READ): The lexicon

Strong's brief entry says: "a good message, good news." Thayer's longer entry adds the etymology: eu- ("good") + angelion ("a message, announcement") from angelos (the word that gives us "angel," literally a messenger). So euangelion is etymologically "the good announcement." Thayer continues: in classical Greek before the New Testament, the word was used for a public proclamation of victory — especially the announcement that a military campaign had been won, or that a new emperor had ascended the throne. It was a herald's word. When a Roman emperor was born, the Roman world received the news as euangelion. When that emperor won a battle, Rome celebrated with euangelion. The word in the first century had imperial weight.

Hatua ya 4 (FUATILIA): Kila mahali linapotokea katika Agano JipyaStep 4 (TRACE): Every occurrence in the New Testament

Chagua mistari mitano muhimu kama sampuli:Strong's number G2098 appears 76 times in the Greek New Testament. The verb form euangelizô (G2097, "to announce good news") appears another 54 times. Together over 130 occurrences. The word is dense in Paul (60+ uses), prominent in the Synoptic Gospels (Matthew and Mark especially), and culminates in Revelation 14:6 where an angel proclaims the "everlasting euangelion." Sample five strategic verses:

MstariVerseUnachotufundisha juu ya euangelionWhat it tells us about euangelion
Marko 1:1Mark 1:1"Mwanzo wa euangelion ya Yesu Kristo, Mwana wa Mungu." Neno la ufunguzi la Injili ya pili. Injili INAANZA hapa; kila kitu kilichotangulia kilikuwa maandalizi."The beginning of the euangelion of Jesus Christ, the Son of God." The opening word of the second Gospel. The gospel BEGINS here; everything before was preparation.
Warumi 1:1Romans 1:1Paulo anajiita "aliyetengwa aihubiri euangelion ya Mungu." Maisha yake yote sasa yanafafanuliwa kwa kubeba habari moja.Paul calls himself "separated unto the euangelion of God." His whole life is now defined by carrying one piece of news.
1 Wakorintho 15:1–41 Corinthians 15:1–4Muhtasari ulio wazi kabisa wa Paulo: euangelion ni kwamba "Kristo alikufa kwa ajili ya dhambi zetu, kama yanenavyo maandiko; na kwamba alizikwa; na kwamba alifufuka siku ya tatu." Kifo, kuzikwa, ufufuo. Matukio matatu ya kihistoria.Paul's clearest summary: the euangelion is "Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day." Death, burial, resurrection. Three historical events.
Wagalatia 1:8–9Galatians 1:8–9Paulo anamlaani (anathema) yeyote anayehubiri euangelion nyingine — si mafundisho tofauti kwa ujumla, bali injili tofauti. Ujumbe huu ni mahususi kiasi kwamba unaweza kuthibitishwa kuwa wa uongo.Paul anathematizes anyone preaching a different euangelion — not different doctrines in general, but a different gospel. The message is so specific that it can be falsified.
Ufunuo 14:6Revelation 14:6"euangelion ya milele" inayohubiriwa kwa kila taifa. Habari njema ileile, sasa ikifika kisiwa cha mwisho na lugha ya mwisho. Hadithi inafungwa kwa neno lililoifungua. The "everlasting euangelion" preached to every nation. The same good news, now reaching the last island and the last language. The story closes with the word that opened.

Vifungu vyote viwili vinatafsiri kitenzi cha Kiebrania basar (H1319), "kutangaza habari njema."This is where word study often pays its biggest dividend. Euangelion did not appear from nowhere in the first century. The Septuagint (the Greek Old Testament we met in Unit 2) had used the verb form euangelizô in two places that the New Testament writers all knew by heart. Both passages translate the Hebrew verb basar (H1319), "to announce good news."

Isaya 52:7: "Jinsi ilivyo mizuri juu ya milima, miguu yake aletaye habari njema, yeye atangazaye amani, yeye aletaye habari njema ya mambo mema, yeye atangazaye wokovu; auambiaye Sayuni, Mungu wako anamiliki!" Kiebrania basar kimesimama nyuma ya "aletaye habari njema." LXX inakitafsiri euangelizomenou. Paulo ananukuu mstari huu katika Warumi 10:15 kuonyesha kwamba kuhubiri injili ni kazi iliyotabiriwa ya wapiga mbiu wa Masihi. Wakimbiaji wanaovuka milima katika maono ya Isaya ni mitume, wainjilisti, na kila Mkristo aliyewahi kumpelekea jirani habari hii.Isaiah 52:7: "How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!" The Hebrew basar stands behind "bringeth good tidings." The LXX renders it euangelizomenou. Paul quotes this verse in Romans 10:15 to argue that gospel preaching is the prophesied work of the Messiah's heralds. The runners over the mountains in Isaiah's vision are the apostles, the evangelists, every Christian who has ever taken the news to a neighbor.

Isaya 61:1: "Roho ya Bwana MUNGU i juu yangu; kwa maana BWANA amenitia mafuta niwahubiri wanyenyekevu habari njema." Tena ni Kiebrania basar. LXX euangelisasthai. Na Yesu anausoma mstari huu huu katika sinagogi la mji wake katika Luka 4:18, anaujitumia Mwenyewe, na anatangaza kwamba unabii huo sasa umetimia. Basar ya Agano la Kale na euangelion ya Agano Jipya ni neno moja katika lugha mbili. Miaka mia saba ya matarajio ya kinabii ya Kiebrania inatiririka ndani ya nomino moja ya Kigiriki.Isaiah 61:1: "The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek." Hebrew basar again. LXX euangelisasthai. And Jesus reads this very verse at His hometown synagogue in Luke 4:18, applies it to Himself, and announces that the prophecy is now fulfilled. The Old Testament basar and the New Testament euangelion are the same word in two languages. Seven hundred years of Hebrew prophetic anticipation flows into one Greek noun.

Euangelion inafungua tabaka hizo. Now reread the verse: "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation." Here is what the word now carries. The Roman world had its own euangelion — the proclamation of imperial victory, the announcement of Caesar's birthday, the news of a new emperor on the throne. Paul writes this letter to Rome, the imperial capital, and uses the same word for a rival announcement: the news that a different Lord (kyrios — remember Unit 9?) has been enthroned. The cross looked like defeat. The resurrection turned it into euangelion. And Paul claims this rival announcement is the power of God unto salvation. It does what Caesar's euangelion never did. It saves. The Greek word is doing imperial-versus-Christ work in the very verse Luther saw the Reformation in. Romans 1:16 is more layered than the English alone reveals. Euangelion opens those layers.

Katika Roma ya Kaisari, injili ilikuwa tangazo la ushindi wa kifalme. Paulo aliiandikia Roma kwamba kuna Mshindi mwingine na ushindi mwingine. Neno la Kigiriki euangelion linabeba mgongano huo wote.In Caesar's Rome, the gospel was a proclamation of imperial victory. Paul wrote to Rome that there was a different Victor and a different victory. The Greek word euangelion carries the entire collision.

The word family is generous in English. Evangel is an archaic English word for the gospel itself. An evangelist is one who announces it. Evangelism is the activity. Evangelical is the adjective for a movement committed to it. The four Gospels — Matthew, Mark, Luke, John — are literally "the four evangelia." Every time you say one of these English words, the Greek euangelion stands behind your mouth.

Urefu na umbo la mfano uliofanyiwa kaziLength and shape of the worked example

This worked example, in English, runs about 950 words across the six steps. A capstone word study in the 800-word range will be similar in shape. Notice the proportions: about 200 words on the lexicon and etymology, 300 words on tracing through the New Testament, 250 words on the Old Testament Hebrew background, and 200 words on the rereading of the original verse. Adjust these proportions according to your word, but keep all six steps represented.

III. Kazi Yako ya KuhitimishaIII. Your Capstone Assignment

Hii ndiyo kazi ambayo Wayne atapokea kutoka kwako. Here is the assignment Wayne will receive from you.

6. Kusoma tena mstari wako wa awali ukiwa sasa unaona wigo kamili wa neno hilo.

Kabidhi kabla ya tarehe ya mwisho atakayoitangaza Wayne. Lengo la idadi ya maneno: maneno 750–900.

Write a word study of approximately 800 words covering all six steps:
1. The verse you chose and why you chose this word in it.
2. The Strong's number and the lexicon entry (Strong's + Thayer's or BDB).
3. The word's range of meaning and any notable etymology.
4. A trace across the New Testament (or OT) noting 5–10 representative occurrences.
5. The Old Testament Hebrew background, if applicable (find the LXX equivalent of any NT Greek word that translates a Hebrew word).
6. The rereading of your original verse with the word's full range now in view.

Submit by the deadline Wayne announces. Word count target: 750–900 words.

Vidokezo vya vitendoPractical tips

Chagua neno unalolijali kwa kweli. Uchunguzi wa neno unaoufanya kwa sababu unataka kuelewa kwa kina jambo fulani kuhusu Kristo au maisha ya Kikristo utasomeka vizuri. Uchunguzi wa neno unaoufanya kwa sababu tu kazi inadai utasikika kama wa kimashine. Wayne anaweza kutambua tofauti ndani ya aya mbili.Pick a word you actually care about. A word study you do because you want to understand something deeply about Christ or the Christian life will be readable. A word study you do because the assignment requires it will sound mechanical. Wayne can tell the difference within two paragraphs.

Tumia Blue Letter Bible (programu ya bure au tovuti) kama chombo chako kikuu. Tumia Bible Hub kwa mwonekano wa interlinear (maandishi ya asili yenye tafsiri chini ya kila neno) ikiwa unataka kuona uchambuzi wa kisarufi. Ikiwa unaweza kupata Logos au e-Sword, ni sawa, lakini huvihitaji. Vyombo vya bure vinatosha kwa kazi hii.Use Blue Letter Bible (free app or website) as your primary tool. Use Bible Hub for the interlinear view if you want to see grammatical parsing. If you have access to Logos or e-Sword, fine, but you do not need them. Free tools are sufficient for this assignment.

Avoid the three pitfalls from Unit 10. No root fallacy. Do not preach that the church is "dynamite." No illegitimate totality transfer. Let the context of your specific verse discipline which meaning of the word's range is actually in play. No "deeper meaning" trap. Strong's enriches the verse; it almost never overturns the English translation.

Taja vyanzo vyako. Unaponukuu Strong's au Thayer's, sema hivyo. Unaponukuu mstari, toa rejea yake. Lengo si kuonyesha vyanzo vyako; lengo ni kufanya hoja zako ziweze kukaguliwa. Kuwa Mberoya kwa msomaji wako kama ulivyokuwa Mberoya kwa Paulo.Cite your sources. When you quote Strong's or Thayer's, say so. When you quote a verse, give the reference. The point is not to display your sources; the point is to make your reasoning checkable. Be a Berean for your reader the way you have been a Berean for Paul.

IV. Kutazama Nyuma: Safari ya Sehemu Kumi na MojaIV. Looking Back: The Eleven-Unit Journey

Uliingia sehemu kumi na moja zilizopita ukiwa na Biblia ya Kiingereza na shauku ya kujua. Unaondoka ukiwa na alfabeti mbili, kamusi ya msamiati wa msingi wa Kigiriki na Kiebrania, mfumo wa namba za Strong's, na hatua za kazi za kufungua neno lolote katika Maandiko. Tazama barabara iliyo nyuma yako:You came in eleven units ago with an English Bible and a curiosity. You are leaving with two alphabets, a dictionary of fundamental Greek and Hebrew vocabulary, the Strong's number system, and a workflow for opening any word in Scripture. Look at the road behind you:

SehemuUnitUlichopataWhat you gained
1–21–2Kwa nini lugha za asili ni muhimu, lugha tatu za Biblia (Kiebrania, Kiaramu, Kigiriki), na barabara iliyo mbele; kisha herufi kumi za kwanza za Kiebrania, Aleph hadi Yod, pamoja na picha zilizo nyuma yake, na maneno yako ya kwanza ya Kiebrania, Abba na bayit. Why the original languages matter, the three languages of the Bible (Hebrew, Aramaic, Greek), and the road ahead; then the first ten Hebrew letters, Aleph through Yod, with the pictures behind them, and your first Hebrew words, Abba and bayit.
3–43–4Herufi zilizobaki za alfabeti ya Kiebrania, Kaf hadi Tav, maumbo matano ya mwisho na alama za vokali, hadi ukasoma Mwanzo 1:1 kwa Kiebrania; kisha hazina sita za maneno ya Kiebrania kutoka Mwanzo 1: bereshit, bara, elohim, ruach, or, adam. The rest of the Hebrew alphabet, Kaf through Tav, the five final forms and the vowel points, until you read Genesis 1:1 in Hebrew; then six Hebrew word treasures from Genesis 1: bereshit, bara, elohim, ruach, or, adam.
55Hazina saba za maneno ya Kiebrania kutoka Isaya 6: qadosh, kavod, YHWH, chesed, shalom, torah, berit — utakatifu, utukufu, Jina la Mungu, na maneno makuu ya agano ya Agano la Kale. Pamoja na Sehemu ya 4, maneno kumi na matatu ya Kiebrania kwa jumla.Seven Hebrew word treasures from Isaiah 6: qadosh, kavod, YHWH, chesed, shalom, torah, berit — holiness, glory, the divine Name, and the great covenant words of the Old Testament. Together with Unit 4, thirteen Hebrew words in all.
6–76–7Alfabeti ya Kigiriki: herufi 24, Alpha hadi Omega, maonyo juu ya herufi zinazodanganya, "marafiki wa uongo" (Nu, Rho, Chi), na kusoma Yohana 1:1 kwa Kigiriki kwa mara ya kwanza. The Greek alphabet: 24 letters, Alpha to Omega, the false-friend warnings (Nu, Rho, Chi), and reading John 1:1 in Greek for the first time.
88Maneno manne ya Kigiriki kutoka Yohana: Logos, agapê, charis, pneuma. Nafsi iliyofunuliwa, upendo uliomtuma, neema anayoileta, Roho anayemtoa.Four Greek words from John: Logos, agapê, charis, pneuma. The Person revealed, the love that sent Him, the grace He brings, the Spirit He gives.
99Maneno manne ya Kigiriki kutoka Warumi: pistis, sôzô, dikaiosynê, kyrios. Imani inayompokea, wokovu anaoutenda, haki anayoitoa, Ubwana anaoudai. Mstari wa Luther ulifunguliwa.Four Greek words from Romans: pistis, sôzô, dikaiosynê, kyrios. The faith that receives Him, the salvation He works, the righteousness He grants, the Lordship He claims. Luther's verse opened.
1010Namba za Strong's katika njia tatu — karatasi, simu, intaneti. Chombo cha daraja kinachoweka kila neno la Kiebrania na Kigiriki mkononi mwako.Strong's numbers in three forms — paper, phone, internet. The bridge tool that puts every Hebrew and Greek word into your hand.
1111Uchunguzi wako wa kwanza kamili wa neno. Chombo kinakutana na fundi. Kozi inazaa matunda.Your first complete word study. The tool meets the workman. The course produces fruit.

Hoja Kuu ya Kozi HiiThe Thesis of This Course

The Bible is one Book, by one Author, on one Theme, about one Hero. Every chapter of Scripture, every paragraph, every sentence, ultimately points to Christ. Eleven units later, that thesis is no longer abstract. You have traced it in the Hebrew Aleph-Tav (Christ the First and Last), in the Greek Alpha-Omega (the same title in the language of Revelation), in Logos (the Word made flesh), in agapê (the love that drove Him to the cross), in charis (the gift He brings), in pneuma (the Spirit He sends), in pistis (the faith that receives Him), in sôzô (the salvation He works), in dikaiosynê (the righteousness He grants), and in kyrios (the Lordship He claims). One Hero. Many languages. Every word in this course was a window onto His face.

Sehemu kumi na moja, alfabeti mbili, maneno kadhaa, Shujaa mmoja. Kozi nzima ilimhusu Yeye.Eleven units, two alphabets, a dozen words, one Hero. The whole course was about Him.

V. Agizo la KufungaV. The Closing Charge

Mambo matatu, kabla hujaondoka.Three things, before you go.

Kwanza, endelea kufanya hivi. Vitumie.First, keep doing this. A workman who studies once is not a workman. A workman is the man who comes back to the workbench every morning. Make Strong's lookup a part of your daily Bible reading from now on. Tap a word every day. Read one lexicon entry. Trace one Strong's number. Sermon preparation, daily devotions, Sunday-school lessons, family worship — all of them are better when one Greek or Hebrew word per study is opened to its depth. You have the tools. Use them.

Second, do not let the tools replace the Word. Hebrews 4:12 said the Word of God is living and energês — active, working, in operation. Strong's is a screwdriver. The Word is a sword. The screwdriver helps you open and adjust the sword's handle; it does not replace the blade. Read your English or Spanish Bible every day. Pray your way through psalms. Let the Word read you. The original-language work serves the daily reading; it does not displace it.

Third, hand this on. A pastor or layperson who can open a Greek word that his congregation has never seen opened is a pastor of unusual value to his people. Teach what you have learned. Show one church member how to use Blue Letter Bible. Show one new convert what agapê means. Share one Strong's lookup at the next prayer meeting. The seminary went into the hand of the layman in 1890. Your job is to keep handing it on.

Hukuja seminari ili ujue zaidi ya jirani yako. Ulikuja kuulisha Mwili wa Kristo. Chukua ulichopewa ukawalishe kondoo. You did not come to seminary to know more than your neighbor. You came to feed the Body of Christ. Take what you have been given and feed the sheep.

Mshumaa sasa uko mkononi mwako. Ubebe.Wayne began this course years ago out of a conviction that biblical languages do not belong to the academic class. They belong to the church. They are the inheritance of every believer who is willing to learn. This course is, in part, his gift of that inheritance to you. When you sit in the next prayer meeting and someone reads Romans 1:16 aloud, and you hear euangelion behind the English word "gospel," and the verse opens into Caesar-versus-Christ in a way it never did before — you have received what Wayne has spent his life trying to pass on. The candle is in your hand now. Carry it.

Sasa fanya mtihani. Ufaulu. Cheti cha kuhitimu kinakungoja upande wa pili. Kisha andika uchunguzi wako wa neno. Wayne atafurahi kuusoma. Now sit the examination. Pass it. The certificate of completion is waiting on the other side. And then write your word study. Wayne will be glad to read it.

Usipofaulu, mtihani utasubiri muda mfupi kabla hujajaribu tena.Certificate track: the 20 multiple-choice questions. Associate: multiple choice and the 10 fill-in-the-blank questions. M.Div. and Th.M.: multiple choice, fill-ins and the 10 short-answer questions. 90% of each part is required to pass. If you do not pass, the exam waits a short time before you can try again.

Njia Yako ya MasomoYour Track
Kila mtu anaweza kusoma na kujibu maswali yote 30. Majaribio hayana kikomo — rudia mara nyingi kadiri inavyohitajika.Everyone may read and answer all 30 questions. Unlimited attempts — retake as many times as needed.
